Libations for Preservation

Updated: Aug 17, 2021

Join the Boston Preservation Alliance this coming Wednesday night, August 18th, on a harbor cruise and enjoy a selection of cocktail pairings chosen by the Tipsy Modernist in collaboration with the BPA to celebrate Boston's historic waterfront, including this Cranberry Margarita . The Modernist's Guide to Cocktails has selected classic cocktails inspired by some of the most iconic and historic buildings on the Boston waterfront. Enjoy a Rattleskull, an authentic eighteenth century cocktail, that might have been enjoyed by revolutionaries after lighting the lantern in Old North Church or a non-alcoholic Cranberry Sparkler as eclectic as the architecture of the Old Custom's House. Additional pairings include , the classic American cocktail the Daiquiri with the Charlestown Navy Yard, a non- alcoholic Mojito with the Institute of Contemporary Art/World Trade Center and a Champagne cocktail or French 75 to toast the Harbor Towers.

We've selected the Cran-arita to celebrate the Boston Light house, on Little Brewster Island in Boston Harbor. Although the original burnt down in 1716, the current structure dates from 1783! Sally Snowman has been the keeper of the Boston Light since 2003 .Ms. Snowman grew up in Boston and got married at the Boston Light in 1994. She has been an auxiliary Coast Guard volunteer for over thirty years. She is the only female lighthouse keeper in the United States. For more info about the Boston Light- check out the BPA boose cruise.

Added bonus- you can get Modernist Guide to Cocktails cocktail napkins for free on this cruise before they go on sale.
