I like mine with muddled blood orange, maple syrup and a float of smokey, peaty scotch for the ultimate fall- in-New-England cocktail. How do you like yours?
The other thing that's great about the Old Fashioned is how easy it is to prepare. You don't even need a mixing glass. But you do need an orange. And an Old Fashioned Glass or Rocks glass.
Muddle an orange slice with a glug of maple syrup in an Old Fashioned glass, plop in a giant cube, pour 1-1/2 oz. of your mixing bourbon of choice over the top and then add just a splash of scotch. Comfort in a glass. Cheers.
